The Food for Life Schools Award
A Food for Life Schools Award is a great way to demonstrate that our schools are doing fantastic work to provide healthy school meals, great lunchtimes and food education that has a positive impact on both pupils and the wider community.
The programme supports our schools to:
• Improve health, wellbeing and motivation of pupils and staff.
• Encourage pupils to take part in enrichment activities.
• Enable children to feel empowered to make their own choices to improve wellbeing.
• Connect with parents and your local community.
• As part of the award, every pupil has the opportunity to visit a farm, cook and participate in food growing activities.
All schools managed by Unity Catering retained their 5 star Food Hygiene rating. Make your food premises safe Remember the rating you are given depends on what the inspector finds on the day, the public can check your ratings on line. Your goal must be to get and keep a rating of level 5 for the long term protection of your pupils and staff Get ahead of the game and avoid any unnecessary shocks during a food inspection Don’t delay contact!
